We like to do something every summer. We do the beach thing with family but we like to do something on our own too with just our nephew because we enjoy exposing him to epicness. LOL! This summer, I am dealing with hot flashes for the first time and it’s not fun. My nephew wanted to go camping for some odd reason and The Robinator wanted to get me somewhere with cooler temps because BAAAAAAABY…this heat will scorch skin.
So we went to Montana and yall…I now want to go every.single.summer. Hell…I want a house out there. I want to spend all summers there and never be this dang hot again. Highs in the 70’s, lows in the 40’s and 50’s, water, trees, flowers, just absolute beauty!!!!!!!!! I LOVED IT SO MUCH! It was exactly what I needed to recharge and regroup. Sure…we had to return to the heat, but a solid week there with all that loveliness was enough to remind us how blessed we are. We watched zero television, read books, played games and hiked daily. We went to the rodeo, did some rock hunting in a river, took a couple of boat rides, lazed around in a hammock and grilled, waded in a river, relaxed, watched the fireworks from a rooftop deck of sorts laying on chaise loungers wrapped in sherpa blankets, ate great food, drank exceptional wine, watched a 4th of July parade and enjoyed life and love.
So yeah…pretty much exactly what we needed.
The only thing bad about this trip was how much we missed the puppies while we were gone. And, of course, the fact that it was still hot as hell when we returned home. LOL!
So…I said all that to say, try to make it somewhere cool this summer or next if you live in this oppressive heat. It’s so worth it. Hell…I now want a summer house there. Why just summer you ask? Snow man…snow. Ain’t nobody got time for that.
I’d like to give a sarcastic shoutout to Academy for their outdoor convertible pants. They are awesome. Well…at least the men’s version is which is what I decided to buy. They are roomy and comfy with lots of pockets. The women’s version of them are pretty much useless compared to the men’s. Even the kid’s were better with pockets and fit in my humble opinion. Women like functional and comfort too!!!!!!!! Humph.
